Cookie policy

Effective date: 30 April 2026

Version Zero (a trading style of Bright Sustainability Ltd) operates versionzero.co.uk. This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies the site uses, why, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our privacy policy.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Cookies let the site remember things between visits — for example, that you've already chosen your cookie preferences — and let us understand how the site is being used.

Categories we use

We group cookies into three categories. The cookie banner that appears on your first visit lets you accept all of them, reject all but the essential ones, or choose category by category.

Essential

Required for the site to function. These remember your cookie preferences so the banner doesn't reappear on every visit, and keep basic security features working. They are always on and cannot be turned off.

  • cc_cookie — first-party, set by us. Stores your cookie consent choices. Expires after six months.

Analytics

Help us understand which pages people find useful so we can keep improving the site. We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation. These cookies only load if you opt in. Data is processed by Google LLC (USA) — see Google's privacy policy for more.

  • _ga, _ga_* — third-party, set by Google Analytics. Used to distinguish users. Expires after two years.
  • _gid — third-party, set by Google Analytics. Used to distinguish users. Expires after 24 hours.

Marketing

Let us measure the effectiveness of any campaigns we run and show relevant content on other sites. These cookies only load if you opt in. Data is processed by Google LLC (USA) — see Google's privacy policy for more.

  • _gcl_* — third-party, set by Google Ads. Used to attribute conversions. Expires after 90 days.

Google Consent Mode v2

We use Google Consent Mode v2. Until you give consent, Google's scripts run in a restricted, cookieless mode that does not store personal data on your device. If you accept analytics or marketing cookies, the relevant Google services begin storing cookies as listed above.

Managing your preferences

You can change your choices at any time by clicking in the footer of any page on this site. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings — most browsers offer this in their privacy or security menu. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working as intended.

International data transfers

The third-party cookies listed above are set by Google. When they are loaded, the data they collect (including IP address and usage data) is transferred to and processed by Google LLC in the United States. These transfers rely on the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual safeguards published by Google. You can decline these cookies entirely using the controls described above.
